Restaurants in Atlantic City New Jersey On the Jersey Shore, there is no excuse for going hungry. With a selection of restaurants that would make any city envious, Atlantic City is a center of epicurean delight. With everything from savory seafood to rich fudge, you can satisfy any appetite hereThe majority of visitors to Atlantic City take advantage of the fantastic and plentiful restaurants operated by the thirteen casinos in town. There is nothing wrong with that, of course - the buffets and the fine dining in the casinos is some of the best on earth. Celebrity chefs are allowed free reign of many of the hotel kitchens along the boardwalk, and the results are to kill for. But there are quite a few gems to be discovered off the boardwalk, as well. Do yourself a flavor (no, that isn't a typo), and try out some of these off-the-beaten-track treasures. Serving up exquisite Italian food just a few steps off the Boardwalk, Mama Motts serves veal, chicken, beef, and seafood dishes. Their real specialty is homemade pasta, which they craft into 15 different pasta dishes. Their sauces are heavenly, as well. Access is easy, on South New York Avenue, just half a block from the Boardwalk.
It would be hard to miss East Bay Crab and Grille, as the entire building is topped by a gigantic crab. The point, I guess, is that their crab is excellent - but they didn't need a giant crab on the roof to prove that! Their Garlic Crab dish is especially popular. East Bay Crab also serves up a tasty array of non-seafood entrees, including steak, pasta, and an extensive kids' menu. The restaurant is a few minutes from downtown, at 6701 Black Horse Pike.A long time favorite, The Irish Pub is not to miss. The food and the atmosphere here will have you coming back again and again. Not to mention that the prices will make you think that the menu is full of typos. It isn't, of course - you really can get a full dinner for under $7, or a cheeseburger for $1.90. Open 24 hours, the Irish Pub is perfect for those midnight munchies. They are located just off the Boardwalk, at 164 St. James Place. With so many fantastic options for dining, Atlantic City can be a little overwhelming. The good news is that, whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. Of course, if you go with one of these recommended gems, you'll get a meal that is worth writing home about. |
